Jack Skeleton Rag Tag

A few weeks ago I received a rather random message from my youngest nephew.  He’d been playing a colouring game on the ipad and the game had a character in which he really liked and he messaged asking if I’d make him a soft toy of the character.  The picture he sent looked more like a character from Minecraft but was at least recognisable as … Continue reading Jack Skeleton Rag Tag

Make Some Christmas Coasters

As we head towards Christmas I thought I’d make some festive coasters for the table. They’re really simple to make. You start with two squares of fabric, I went for contrasting colours black and white.  Cut your design out of different coloured materials and assemble on one of the squares fixing in place with pins.  Once you’re happy with the design embroider onto your base … Continue reading Make Some Christmas Coasters

Hanging Christmas Angels

Following on from my mini Christmas Angels I thought I’d make some larger decorations to hang on the door of our living room. Unlike the mini angels for this you need sturdier wire so I went with inexpensive garden wire which although tougher to work up with is less likely to loose its shape if knocked.  You will need some clippers shape and chunky enough … Continue reading Hanging Christmas Angels

Christmas Centre Piece

I spotted this idea on the lovely blog Oh Happy Day and thought it was such a sweet idea for a Christmas centre piece. Living in the UK I don’t celebrate Thanksgiving and Fenwick’s window has greater sentiment than Macy’s parade but the characters would work equally well for the 25th of December. Check out the blog – http://ohhappyday.com/2017/11/thanksgiving-parade-balloon-centerpiece/ Continue reading Christmas Centre Piece

Make an Envelope Gift Box

Perfect for wrapping small Christmas presents this design is elegant and neat. You start with a template – I’d recommend enlarging this to at least A3. Cut the template out in card and score and fold along the dotted lines. Next select a paper to cover your template.  I went with a gorgeous hand marbled paper.  I didn’t make this myself, its a purchase from … Continue reading Make an Envelope Gift Box
