Purchasing
Depending on your order, a discount may be possible. I often work on multiple paintings at the same time so many of the pieces work well as a set. Please contact me directly on ragtagmagpie@yahoo.com to discuss if you would like to buy more than one painting.
I aim to deliver all orders within 7-10 days for UK orders. This will, to some degree, depend on the speed of money clearing.
I use reputable delivery services for purchase orders, If you wish to collect please make a note of this in the notes section when placing an order and I will contact you to discuss further. If you live within thirty miles of Cullercoats (NE30 postcode) we can potentially arrange delivery by hand. Again, please use the notes section when placing your order and I will contact you to discuss this option
Depending on your location it may be possible to arrange shipping. If you are outside of the UK, you can email me at ragtagmagpie@yahoo.com to discuss ahead of placing your order. mention it in the notes section when placing your order, or, if I see your order is from outside of the UK I will contact you once the order is placed to let you know how I will deliver.
If you live local to me (postcode NE30), I am happy to give you the chance to see a piece or pieces in your home. If you live further away, please contact me by email at ragtagmagpie@yahoo.com to discuss further.
I hope you will be happy with your piece, and I don’t want anyone stuck with a piece they’re not happy with. If you have any questions about a piece before you place your order, please don’t hesitate to contact me on ragtagmagpie@yahoo.com to discuss. If you decide you don’t want the piece after all, you can return it, and I will provide a refund. As you’ll appreciate, being a one-person business, I do have to cover all costs and try to make delivery costs as low as possible. To do this, I try to ensure happiness in purchases. However, if you decide you want to return a piece I will, of course, work with you to return the piece and your money.
The Site
Yes, the site is mobile optimised so should work on any device you have. This includes the ability to order any piece on your phone or tablet.
It was a difficult decision to change the focus of my website from my old arts and crafts site, where I posted every day for over three years. As you can imagine that was a lot of work and I loved the results. Judging from the lovely comments I received and the followers I built up, many of you did too. However, after much thought, I decided I wanted to do something different – and the result is the site you’re on now. You can view a lot of sketches in the Sketchbook section of the website and I will continue to add to these. There won’t be as many blog posts on this version of the site as there used to be but I will update and add new posts as and when I see something that interests me. I’ll also be doing much more on my social media channels and including some of the types of ‘interest pieces’ I used to post on Rag Tag Magpie. So, make sure you follow me on Instagram ) Pinterest and Facebook to see what’s interesting me in the art world at any given time!
The best way is to sign up for my newsletter (link). I won’t send you too much, I’m probably going to send out a monthly email and this is the best way to stay up to date with what’s happening on the site. I also post regularly on Instagram so if you don’t already you can follow me there
Click on any picture image in the main category sections. This will open up the product detail. From there you can mouse over the image for close up detail, click on the magnifying glass to see large image, or click on one of the related gallery pieces underneath to see alternative image versions
I don’t have a general shop available as part of the menu. This is a deliberate choice as I wanted to keep the website simple. However, if you want to see all paintings that are available for sale, simply click on CART in the top menu. Whether you’ve bought anything or not, the cart page will come up. You can then click on the Return to Shop button, and you will see all paintings for sale, and can view them how you want – by price, latest or popularity (as all paintings are originals, this uses some pretty super-duper secret algorithms to show which items are getting most interest)
The Works
The pieces currently for sale on the site are originals, and there are not print versions of them available. In the future, selected pieces may have print versions available. I’ll update to let you know if this happens!
The images displayed in the Sketchbook are general sketches and doodles that I created in one of my sketchbooks so the materials aren’t great for finished works, which is why there is not any detail attached to them regarding media or prices. However, if there is an image or style of image you particularly like please feel free to contact me on ragtagmagpie@yahoo.com and I am happy to discuss, or just let you know a little more about them.
Some are pre-framed, others are not – please be sure to look at the description to see if they come with mount or frame. Pricing reflects the framed/ unframed status of the pieces. If you would like to buy a piece framed, then please contact me at ragtagmagpie@yahoo.com to discuss. We do have a range of frames available, depending on the piece you are interested in and can potentially provide the frame for a very reasonable additional fee.
