I really enjoyed painting the little abstract Spring Meadow that I finished at the start of this month so I thought I’d have a go at creating a slightly larger one on canvas.
Quite pleased with the finished result especially as I reused an old canvas that was destined for the rubbish.
I like the freedom that abstract gives both in form and colour and the challenge of retaining a sense of the actual scene whilst re-imagining it. I also love the process of adding and subtracting elements of the painting, where you can lose yourself in the process.
I also really like the depth and the detail of the canvas close up and the pops of colour
