Life Drawing

About ten years ago I took a series of life drawing classes, something I’d really like to start again.  It was first time I’d every drawn the nude figure and was a bit daunting at first.  I came across this sketch when I was unpacking boxes recently so thought I’d share.

When I started the classes I thought I might find it odd staring at a naked person but actually the focus required when trying to get the proportions and positioning right means you really don’t think about the nakedness of the subject.  I did find it weird that the male model had a habit of standing naked when drinking a coffee and chatting to the class at the midpoint break but I think he was a bit of an exhibitionist as the female models never acted this way.

If I find any other sketches as I unpack I’ll share.
