Tea-Tastic Tuesday

Bit of a sleepy start to today.  I sketched this last night whilst watching the BBC’s House Through Time which for this series is focused not just on a house in home town Newcastle but the house is actually right next door to where I used to work.  Its been a fascinating series, just a shame that they didn’t reveal more about the neighbouring buildings.

As the sketch was for a Tuesday and I wasn’t feeling too inspired I went for a tea sketch  – using one of my lovely Oliver Bonas tea cups.

And here’s another tea fact – Afternoon Tea reputedly started in England in the 1840s and started out as a private social event for ladies who climbed the echelons of society. It was only when Queen Victoria engaged in the Afternoon Tea ritual that it became a formal occasion on a larger scale, known as ‘tea receptions’.
