Stan Laurel

Stan Laurel was born born Arthur Stanley Jefferson on the 16th  June 1880, in Ulverston Lancashire, and teamed up with Oliver Hardy in 1921 in the film ‘The Lucky Dog‘ to become one of the greatest double acts in comedy history.

Before he reached fame of his own, Laurel was Charlie Chaplin‘s understudy when he first moved out to the United States.

This is Rag Tag Mapgie’s tribute to the genius that was Stan Laurel, copied from an anthology of clown depictions we picked up many years ago, which captures his self described ‘”whining face” in cartoon style.
