Celebrating Giacometti Part 3

Now for the messy bit.

I started with plaster bandage as it is easy to fix to the foil than the paste.  You can buy this at any craft store.  I’d suggest covering your work surface with plastic as it is messy even before you start using water.  Cut the bandage into manageable strips when dry and fill a pot with some water.

 

Dip the bandage into the water and shake off any excess then simple wrap tightly around your figure.

 

You continue in this way until the whole figure is covered.  Then leave to dry.

Once it is dry you will need to apply another coat of bandage to make the figure more sturdy but before you do bend a short piece of wire and attach to the feet.  This will allow you to attach the whole thing to a base more easily.

Leave the whole thing to dry overnight.
